Lovey English 6pc Watson Violet Wand
Excellent example of an early English violet wand made by Watson & Sons (electro medical) Ltd - of London - c1935 A lovely heavy duty case - laquered and polished. Also a new cotton velvet interior in a deep purple plus new case clips and leather handle. The control unit is built into the case with a large bakelite fascia and two knobs. The one on the left selects the voltage and there is a screw which prevents you from selecting the wrong voltage (it can easily be re positioned for 120V if required) . The second adjusts power from medium low to high. This adjusts the contact breakers rather than a rheostat / potentiometer - but does give an excellent range of sensations. From beginning to end, the turn is around 180 degrees and then it stops, so you cannot turn it too much - a feature common to many quality English violet wands. Naturally we have replaced the cables with modern flexible PVC and refurbished the internal electrics to the highest possible standards allowing for the original design. This includes new capacitors, double insulated interior wiring, cleaning the contact breakers and tuning them, securing the cables so they can neither be pulled out or pushed in - plus of course, a total refurbishment of the case. |
